To fill most Lamy fountain pens from a bottle, you'll need a Lamy converter, sold separately on our
Lamy refills page. Use the Z28 converter for Safari, AL-Star, Vista, and Lx models, and the Z27 converter for higher-end models like the Studio, Aion, and CP1. To fill, dip the nib fully into the ink, twist the converter piston down and then back up to draw the ink in, and wipe the nib clean. The Lamy 2000 is the exception: as a built-in piston filler, you fill it straight from the bottle with no cartridge or converter. If you're replacing a Lamy ink cartridge, look for the proprietary Lamy T10 cartridge rather than the standard international size.
